Build CPH2745_17.0.0.102(EX01) is now landing on OnePlus 15 phones in India, days ahead of the 29 October date OnePlus had originally planned. The stable ColorOS 17 update began rolling out on 22–23 October, and OnePlus said in its community announcement that it is already rolling out in the IN region in batches. India is the first region confirmed so far, and no dates have been confirmed yet for the US or Europe.

What changed

ColorOS 17, based on Android 17, replaces OxygenOS 16, which was based on Android 16, on the OnePlus 15. The OnePlus 15 is the first OnePlus device to make the OxygenOS to ColorOS transition, and OnePlus is consolidating all eligible devices onto ColorOS starting with this Android 17 cycle. For existing owners, OnePlus says the switch is voluntary, and a rollback package back to OxygenOS 16 exists for the OnePlus 15, though the exact rollback build details have not been fully published. ColorOS 17 was unveiled globally by OPPO on 13 October 2026, with the India unveiling following on 19 October. OnePlus India describes the new software as "a more stable, reliable and future-ready software experience", under the tagline "Silky Smooth. Flow with AI".

What is new in ColorOS 17

The visible change is Living Flow Design: Luminous Effect, Fluid Motion and Flexible Feedback, with translucent, glass-like elements, a redesigned Control Centre with circular toggles, new lock-screen clocks and widgets, and Live Lyrics on the lock screen. Underneath, OnePlus points to a new performance architecture: the Unified Rendering Architecture, Luminous Rendering Engine and Laminar Flow Engine. The company claims rendering load is down by up to 30%, rendering RAM use is down by up to 25%, app-launch stability is up 55%, Gallery thumbnails load up to 50% faster on first launch, over 25% more apps stay in the background, and over 90% smoothness is retained in a six-year-use simulation. These are company claims and have not been independently verified. The AI set includes AI Mind Pilot with Agent Mode, AI Photo Agent with Style Match, AI Mind Space, AI Mind Suggest, OSee visual AI and Live Interpreter. On security, AI Call Guard flags AI-driven fraud on calls, including synthetic voices and face-swap attempts, a feature OnePlus highlighted for India. OnePlus also lists Private Computing Cloud encryption and a Transparency Report.

How do I get the update?

On the phone, go to Settings > System & Updates > Software Update, then tap Download & install if the update appears. If it does not appear yet, that does not mean the phone is ineligible. The rollout is batched, and open-beta participants are first in line, so the update widens over days. OnePlus's beta schedule put the India application window at 9–12 October; it is now closed. Owners who do not want to wait can force a manual check through the Release Candidate route: on the Software Update screen, open the three-dot menu, go to Beta Program, then Release Candidate, and tap "update now". Before installing, back up the phone first. Use Wi-Fi, because the full package is around 3.5 GB when upgrading directly from stable OxygenOS 16, against roughly 500–540 MB from the beta track. Keep the battery above 50%. A normal over-the-air update keeps data, but a backup first is still the safe move. The phone may feel warm or drain faster on day one while apps re-optimise; that normally settles in a day or two.

When will other OnePlus phones get it?

OnePlus 15 and OnePlus Pad 4 are the first wave, already live early in India. OnePlus lists the Pad 4 build as OPD2514_17.0.0.101(EX01). The wider plan OnePlus originally published runs as follows, and it is approximate: dates can shift by model, region and carrier, and each wave releases in batches.

Wave Models
30 October 2026 OnePlus 15R, 13, 13s
November 2026 OnePlus Open, 13R, 12, Nord 6, Nord CE6, Pad 3
December 2026 12R (including Genshin Impact Edition), 11, Nord 5, Nord CE6 Lite, Nord CE5, Pad 2, Pad Go 2
Q1 2027 Nord 4, N6, N6x, N6 Lite, Pad Lite

The plan covers 24 devices in total, counting the 12R's Genshin Impact Edition as a separate entry.

Where the details are still unclear

Three details are worth stating plainly rather than smoothing over. First, the exact first day of the early rollout is reported as either 22 or 23 October, so this post uses the window 22–23 October. Second, the package sizes differ slightly between reports: roughly 500–540 MB from the beta track and around 3.5 GB from stable, so treat both figures as approximate. Third, the rollback to OxygenOS 16 exists for the OnePlus 15, but its full build details have not been published. On stability, no specific stable-build issues have been credibly reported yet as of 25 October, but the rollout is only days old, so that is not the same as saying the build is bug-free. Reports of crashes, battery drain and heating from the beta period describe the beta build, not this stable build.

What happens next

OnePlus 15 owners who have not received the update yet should see it arrive as batches widen over the coming days. The next fixed date to watch is 30 October, when the OnePlus 15R, 13 and 13s are due to join the rollout; the remaining waves follow through November, December and the first quarter of 2027. US and Europe dates are still unconfirmed, so owners outside India should wait for a regional announcement rather than assume the India schedule applies to them.

Questions people ask

Why has my OnePlus 15 not received the update yet?
The rollout is batched, open-beta participants are first in line, and it takes days to reach every phone. India is the first region confirmed so far.
How do I manually check for ColorOS 17?
Settings > System & Updates > Software Update, then Download & install if it appears — or the Release Candidate route via the three-dot menu, Beta Program, Release Candidate, "update now".
Is OxygenOS ending?
OnePlus is consolidating all eligible devices onto ColorOS from the Android 17 cycle; the OnePlus 15 is the first device to switch. For existing owners the switch is voluntary, and a rollback to OxygenOS 16 exists for the OnePlus 15.
Can I roll back to OxygenOS 16?
Yes, a rollback package exists for the OnePlus 15, but its exact build details have not been fully published.
How big is the update?
Roughly 500–540 MB from the beta track, and around 3.5 GB when upgrading directly from stable OxygenOS 16 — both figures approximate, so use Wi-Fi.
When will the 13, 12 or Nord get it?
30 October 2026 (15R, 13, 13s); November 2026 (Open, 13R, 12, Nord 6, Nord CE6, Pad 3); December 2026 (12R, 11, Nord 5, Nord CE6 Lite, Nord CE5, Pad 2, Pad Go 2); Q1 2027 (Nord 4, N6, N6x, N6 Lite, Pad Lite). Dates are approximate and each wave releases in batches.
Is it stable — install now or wait?
No specific stable-build issues have been credibly reported yet as of 25 October, but the rollout is only days old, so that is not a guarantee. Waiting a few days is the safer move; if installing now, back up first, use Wi-Fi and keep the battery above 50%.
